Foundation Applications Engineers (Solar Energy)

Location: San Rafael, California, USA; requires remote and on-site customer support, travel to active project sites, and field work.

Salary: $110,000–$120,000 annual

What you will do

• Provide remote and on-site technical and engineering support for integrating foundation solutions.
• Lead internal and external field and office-based engineering personnel across global teams.
• Work with Product Development, Machinery Engineering, Software Engineering, and Test Engineering teams to improve technology and resolve installation issues.
• Design, execute, and document structured and ad-hoc field testing of foundation hardware and machinery.
• Resolve and escalate field issues, manage parts procurement and machine repairs, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Train equipment operators, engineers, mechanics, and customer field teams while identifying and reducing safety risks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in field engineering, applications engineering, product development, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with heavy machinery, foundation installation, or construction-site operations.
• Experience resolving on-site technical issues and providing customer-facing engineering support.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, or structural engineering, construction management, or a related technical discipline; equivalent field or construction experience may be considered.
• Understanding of engineering principles, geotechnical considerations, structural analysis, construction safety, solar tracker systems, foundation installation, and pile-driving equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and site plans, troubleshoot machinery, manage field activities, and train operators.

• Technical certification in heavy machinery engineering or construction.
• Advanced degree in engineering, software development, or another technical field.
