Structural Engineer III (Aerospace)

Salary: $108,496.89–$149,183.22 per year

What you will do

• Lead the design and analysis of advanced metallic and composite aerospace structures.
• Develop and execute structural test plans and perform detailed structural analyses.
• Support structural certification and ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Identify design improvements and integrate structural solutions into multidisciplinary systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and communicate technical specifications, analyses, and project updates to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, civil engineering, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in structural engineering or a related role.
• Advanced understanding of structural analysis and design principles, including static and/or dynamic analysis.
• Knowledge of computer-aided engineering tools and experience working in multidisciplinary design teams.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods, understand technical documentation, and travel occasionally.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, Professional Engineering license, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with FEA tools such as MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, or ANSYS.
• Experience with fatigue and damage tolerance analysis using NASGRO or AFGROW.
• Experience with classical hand calculations, substantiation reports, and FAA, NASA, or DoD regulations.
• Background in the aerospace and defense industry.
