TL;DR

Principal ASIC Test Development Engineer (ASIC/DFT): Developing test strategies and Design-for-Test (DFT) solutions for ASICs, memory, and 2.5D SiPs to ensure high test coverage and manufacturability. Focus on bridging HW development and supplier teams, implementing innovative DFT IP, and solving complex structural versus functional test gaps in advanced semiconductor nodes.

Location: Hybrid (US: Massachusetts, California, or Texas). Must work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

Salary: Annual Salary USD 135,000 - 310,500 (depending on location)

What you will do

  • Develop test strategies and DFT solutions for ASICs and 2.5D SiP to support high test coverage requirements.
  • Collaborate with design teams to enable DFT features, validate on ATE, and integrate into diagnostics.
  • Design and implement innovative DFT IP in coordination with cross-functional internal and external teams.
  • Resolve high DPPM ASIC issues at EMS partner sites and correlate failures with supplier wafer and package tests.
  • Serve as the primary test authority and advisor for ASIC frontend, physical design, and manufacturing teams.
  • Own ASIC test requirements in MRDs, manage phase exit validation, and ensure fault coverage attainment.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in testability and DFT for ASICs, memories, and 2.5D SiPs.
  • Expertise in MBIST, IOBIST, LBIST, JTAG, scan/ATPG, and IEEE 1687.
  • Strong experience in ASIC DFT implementation, post-silicon validation, debug, and diagnostic integration.
  • Experience with TSV, HBM DRAM, 2.5D, and 3D ICs.
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
  • Must be based in the United States (Massachusetts, California, or Texas).
