Molding & Casting Engineer

TL;DR

Molding & Casting Engineer (Manufacturing): Analyze incoming 3D CAD part designs for high pressure injection molding, die casting, thermoforming, and other tooling technologies with an accent on optimizing design feasibility, DFM verification, and technical solutions. Focus on communicating with sales teams and manufacturers across Europe and Asia, participating in pre-sales meetings, and supporting customer technical queries.

Location: Remote full-time with working hours according to Central European Time zone (start between 8-10am CET)

What you will do

• Communicate with sales team and manufacturers across Europe and Asia to prepare quotations.
• Analyze 3D CAD part designs for high pressure injection molding, die casting, thermoforming, and other tooling technologies.
• Optimize part designs to improve feasibility.
• Participate in pre-sales meetings with sales and customers via video calls, answering technical questions.
• Support DFM stage, verify manufacturer-proposed solutions, and explain them to end customers.

Requirements

• Professional experience in high pressure injection molding tools design, thermoplastic processing, or design engineering for HPDC/LPDC.
• Experience in engineering role on production floor with plastic processing or developing parts for molding/casting.
• Expert knowledge of part design rules for injection molding or aluminum die casting, common quality issues, root causes, and Mold Flow analysis.
• Understanding of plastic post-processes like pad-printing, silk-screening, spray painting, chroming, hot foil stamping.
• Strong English communication skills for multicultural interactions, convincing stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of vacuum casting, compression molding, investment casting, sand casting.
