Project Engineer, Physical – Datacenters

Location: Lakewood, Colorado, or full-time remote within the United States. The work model may be hybrid or fully remote depending on location and project needs. Travel typically ranges from 15–25%, with occasional field inspection and construction supervision.

Salary: $125,000–$150,000 per year.

What you will do

• Perform and review physical engineering design for electric power substations and BESS facilities, including layouts, elevations, grounding, conduit plans, equipment specifications, and bill of materials.
• Complete QA/QC reviews of designers’, drafters’, and engineers’ work for quality, accuracy, code compliance, and conformance with client specifications.
• Lead short-term project scope, budget, execution, technical quality, deliverables, and deadlines in coordination with Team Leads and Technical Directors.
• Prepare calculations, models, cost estimates, budget reports, proposals, technical guides, training documents, and department standards.
• Train, coach, and mentor junior engineers, designers, and other team members in physical design practices.
• Support occasional field inspections, construction supervision, safety activities, and multidisciplinary project coordination.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
• At least 5 years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MathCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, analytical, and technical review skills.
• FE or PE licensure is preferred.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.
