Principal Mechanical Engineer, NA (Data Centers)

Location: Hybrid in the United States; eligible locations include Denver, Colorado; Phoenix, Arizona; Santa Clara, Texas; Ashburn, Virginia; New Albany, Ohio; Shackelford County, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; and Quincy, Washington. Three days onsite and two days remote are required.

Salary: $170,000–185,000 base plus bonus annually, with the range based on Colorado market data and subject to variation by location.

What you will do

• Define and drive mechanical engineering strategy across North American hyperscale data center projects.
• Lead complex technical problem-solving and provide expert guidance across design, construction, commissioning, turnover, and operations.
• Review and approve critical design decisions, submittals, and change management actions.
• Collaborate with electrical, architectural, operations, and innovation engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Represent mechanical engineering in Centers of Excellence, strategic forums, executive discussions, and customer engagements.
• Mentor engineers, improve design standards, monitor emerging technologies, and conduct forensic root cause investigations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in mechanical design, construction, and operations, including required data center or mission-critical experience.
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives and influencing cross-functional teams.
• Expertise with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, CFD modeling, Excel, and Power BI.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Deep knowledge of building codes, standards, and industry practices such as ASHRAE; travel of 15–25% is expected.
