TL;DR

Underwriter (Fintech): Assessing risk for Home Equity Investment (HEI) products with an accent on residential real estate risk and title curative analysis. Focus on analyzing credit and appraisal reports, identifying title encumbrances, and ensuring eligibility for non-traditional financing.

Location: Remote (Global). Availability to work until 6pm PST strongly preferred.

Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage the underwriting pipeline from initial review through final approval, maintaining a consistent daily cadence.
• Analyze risk factors against company guidelines and communicate reasoning clearly to processors and homeowners.
• Verify that property titles are free of restrictions, leases, liens, and other encumbrances.
• Conduct thorough appraisal reviews to identify value concerns, property condition flags, and comparable issues.
• Review loan modifications and trust documentation to confirm vesting, trustee authority, and product eligibility.
• Monitor and approve all conditions to be fully met prior to funding.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience underwriting residential real estate or home equity products.
• Deep expertise in analyzing credit reports, title reports, appraisal reports, and deeds of trust.
• Strong title curative knowledge and the ability to resolve liens and encumbrances.
• Experience with loan processing systems or CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
• Availability to work until 6pm PST strongly preferred.
• High attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and independently.
