Electrical Field Engineer (Electric Power Systems)

Location: Fully remote within the United States or local/in-office in Lakewood, Colorado; frequent field travel and onsite construction support required.

Salary: $85,000–$125,000 per year

What you will do

• Perform equipment, control-system, communications, relay-testing, startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning services.
• Provide onsite construction support, supervision, meeting participation, RFI coordination, scheduling, and design-compliance verification.
• Program, wire, install, and test protective relaying, control, communications, SCADA, and PLC systems.
• Design electric power systems, including one-line and three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring, grounding, conduit and cable routing, and equipment specifications.
• Prepare field reports, investigations, cost estimates, budgets, studies, and construction-progress documentation.
• Review work from designers, drafters, and field-service personnel while maintaining client relationships and applicable code compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution; an Electric Power focus is preferred.
• At least 2 years of engineering and relevant field experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and power-system software such as EasyPower, ETAP, or SKM.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, plus strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must be currently authorized to work full time in the United States.
• Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, maintain quality, collaborate with clients and contractors, travel frequently, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• FE or PE licensure.
• Experience with Omicron test equipment, apparatus testing, or NETA standards.
• OSHA 10 certification.
