Electrical Engineer (Solar Engineering)

What you will do

• Perform detailed design of PV electrical power systems including string sizing, array layouts, one-line and wiring diagrams, conduit/cable sizing, grounding, and equipment specifications.
• Prepare computer-based models and conduct power system studies on utility-scale PV plants such as short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, and harmonic analysis.
• Review equipment data sheets, manuals, and testing reports; prepare cost estimates, budget reports, and project schedules.
• Provide field assistance, troubleshooting, observation reports, and verify work of designers, drafters, and field personnel.
• Maintain client relationships, adhere to codes/standards, and attend training for professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology; electric power option preferred.
• 3–6+ years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• Knowledge of medium/low voltage distribution, switchgear, motor control centers, industrial instrumentation/controls.
• Experience with AutoCAD; effective written/oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• FE/PE licensure a plus; must be authorized to work in the US full-time.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with power system software (EasyPower, ETAP, SKM, CYMCAP).
• Proficiency in PVsyst and other PV-specific software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
