Staff Product Manager (Automotive)

TL;DR

Staff Product Manager (Automotive): Defining and delivering GM’s public charging experiences across in-vehicle and mobile touchpoints with an accent on end-to-end user journeys for EV drivers. Focus on setting product vision, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and optimizing the reliability and simplicity of finding and paying for public charging.

Location: Hybrid. Must be based in or be able to relocate to Mountain View, CA or Warren, MI. Expected to report to the office at least 3 times a week.

Salary: $159,400 – $245,700

What you will do

• Define and evangelize the product vision and roadmap for public charging across embedded in-vehicle, mobile, and web applications.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, operations, and external partners to align strategy and success metrics.
• Translate customer needs into clear product requirements for new developments and enhancements.
• Drive execution of aggressive launch timelines while balancing quality, scope, and business impact.
• Champion user-centered design and collaborate with UX teams to refine prototypes and UI/UX.
• Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to inform prioritization and iterate post-launch.

Requirements

• 7+ years of product management experience across the full product lifecycle.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without current or future immigration sponsorship.
• Proven strategic mindset with experience building customer-facing products in mobility, automotive, or transportation.
• Strong technical and business acumen, including understanding of system architecture and unit economics.
• Demonstrated ability to design intuitive user experiences that solve real customer problems.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with EV charging technologies, standards, and the U.S. public charging ecosystem.
• Experience with location-based services, map-centric apps, and third-party partnerships.
• Background in creating SaaS platforms and managing billing/payment flows.
• Experience building global, multi-region systems with localization.
• Software development background or strong technical literacy.
