Location: Based in Vancouver office with office-centric hybrid schedule (Mon, Tue, Thu in-office; Wed WFH; Fri optional depending on work and teams).

Salary: $176,000 - $200,000 base (plus equity and benefits).

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve backend platform enabling chat- and agent-powered experiences across hirify.global.
• Build shared APIs, services, and abstractions for product teams to ship consistently and quickly.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data Science, and AI teams to translate needs into technical roadmaps.
• Improve performance, observability, and operational quality for enterprise-grade chat systems.
• Mentor engineers, enhance design practices, and simplify systems for engineering leverage.
• Develop AI Evaluation platform using frontier agent evaluation practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years full-time software development experience owning medium-to-large projects.
• Strong backend fundamentals and experience with reliable, maintainable distributed systems in production.
• Experience navigating complex architectures and cross-functional collaboration with Infrastructure and Frontend.
• Strong production instincts: observability, testing, rollout safety, performance, operational excellence.
• Fluency with AI tools and emerging technologies; ownership, initiative in ambiguous fast-paced environments.
