Owner is an AI-native platform providing independent restaurants with integrated tools for online ordering, websites, CRM, and POS systems.

What you will do

• Own agent surfaces end-to-end, from LLM integration and tool design to backend orchestration and conversational UI.
• Contribute to the shared agent platform, including tool abstractions, chat persistence, and RAG systems.
• Shape technical direction on agent architecture, framework choices, and model strategy.
• Make thoughtful tradeoffs regarding latency, cost, and reliability for production systems.
• Raise the bar for agent quality through rigorous evaluation frameworks and iterative development.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with production LLM-powered or agentic features.
• Fluency with tool calling, prompt engineering, and agent loops.
• Experience with evaluation frameworks and observability for non-deterministic systems.
• Full-stack proficiency to navigate backend orchestration, tool design, and UI development.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Must be based in the United States or Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with production-quality RAG or retrieval systems.
• Background in restaurant tech, commerce, or SMB operator tooling.
• Contributions to open-source agent frameworks or LLM tooling.
• Experience mentoring engineers on agentic AI patterns.
