TL;DR

Account Director (Defence & Intelligence): Leading and growing the Defence & Intelligence portfolio through strategic account management and new business development with an accent on complex government procurement and high-stakes national security programs. Focus on navigating long-term sales cycles, building senior stakeholder trust, and delivering large-scale proposals.

Location: Hybrid in Canberra. Must have Australian Citizenship and be eligible to hold an NV1 clearance or higher.

What you will do

  • Build and maintain deep, trusted relationships with stakeholders across Defence and Intelligence agencies.
  • Identify and close new business opportunities within enterprise accounts and sub-departments.
  • Manage complex sales cycles (6–24 months) using a structured, strategic approach.
  • Lead the development and delivery of tenders, bids, and large-scale proposals.
  • Own pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity strategy using CRM tools.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with pre-sales, product, consulting, and leadership teams.

Requirements

  • Australian Citizenship.
  • Eligible to hold an NV1 security clearance or higher.
  • 12–15+ years of enterprise software sales experience.
  • Proven track record of consistently hitting quotas and closing complex deals.
  • Direct experience selling into Defence, Intelligence, or Federal Government.
  • Expertise in consultative and strategic selling methodologies such as MEDDIC or Challenger.
