TL;DR
System Engineer (Automotive): Supporting hardware and software applications for vehicle audio systems and drive solutions with an accent on customer-facing engineering, technical issue resolution, and coordination across engineering disciplines. Focus on leading customer technical discussions, coordinating engineering changes and deliverables, and creating structured problem-solving analyses for automotive projects.

Location: Hybrid role requiring work at the hirify.global offices in Nagoya, Aichi, or Ariake, Tokyo, Japan, with approximately 10% travel.

What you will do

  • Act as the primary engineering interface between hirify.global and the customer for technical issues and project discussions.
  • Lead initial technical discussions, customer meetings, and presentations on engineering topics and problem-solving activities.
  • Create structured problem-solving documents using methods such as 5 Phase, 8-D, Fishbone, Fault Tree Analysis, and Is/Is Not.
  • Coordinate engineering changes, deliverables, and milestones with Program Managers and Resident Engineers.
  • Lead internal engineering alignment meetings and ensure customer requirements are understood and addressed.
  • Oversee projects from a technical perspective and intervene when customer or internal requirements are at risk.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of engineering experience.
  • Design engineering experience in hardware and/or software involving SoC, MCU, and DSP.
  • Experience with electronic communication buses such as A2B, CAN, AVB, and I2C.
  • Fluent communication in Japanese and English.
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited guidance and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Willingness to work from the local hirify.global office in Nagoya or Ariake and complete a background investigation and aptitude test as a condition of employment.

Nice to have

  • Automotive electronics design experience or experience at an automotive Tier 1 supplier.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Audio amplifier design experience.
  • Participation in or leadership of product launches.
