Principal System Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Must be based in or willing to work at local offices in Nagoya or Tokyo, Japan

What you will do

• Act as the primary technical interface between hirify.global Engineering and the customer for project and technical issues.
• Lead first-level technical discussions and create structured problem-solving documentation such as 8-D, 5-Phase, and Fishbone analysis.
• Coordinate engineering changes and milestones with Program Managers and Resident Engineers to ensure timing is met.
• Ensure internal alignment to reflect the voice of the customer within engineering requirements.
• Oversee projects from a technical perspective to ensure all internal and customer requirements are satisfied.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of engineering experience.
• Design experience in hardware or software involving SoC, MCU, and DSP.
• Proficiency with electronic communication buses including A2B, CAN, AVB, and I2C.
• Fluent communication in both Japanese and English.
• Ability to create structured problem-solving documents (8-D, Fault Tree Analysis, etc.).
• Willingness to work at local hirify.global offices in Nagoya or Tokyo.

Nice to have

• Design experience in automotive electronics or experience working at an automotive Tier 1.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in Audio Amplifier design.
• Proven track record of participating in or leading product launches.
