Senior Tax Analyst

TL;DR

Senior Tax Analyst (SaaS): Execute and manage global indirect tax compliance including US Sales and Use Tax filings and international VAT/GST coordination with an accent on daily execution, data reconciliation, and digital transformation. Focus on leading implementation of automated US SUT solutions, evaluating global tax automation options, and supporting direct tax workflows.

Location: Hybrid role based in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA (office at least two days per week)

Salary: $88,000 - $110,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end preparation and filing of US Sales and Use Tax returns across all nexus jurisdictions.
• Coordinate global VAT/GST compliance as internal lead, reviewing returns from external providers.
• Project lead for implementing automated US SUT return preparation and filing solutions.
• Explore and evaluate global indirect tax automation software and services for international expansion.
• Gather, validate, and reconcile transaction data from NetSuite for tax reporting.
• Prepare journal entries, tax accruals, and monthly reconciliations for global indirect taxes.
• Assist with global direct tax compliance and annual income tax provision calculations under US GAAP, IFRS, and local GAAPs.

Requirements

• 4+ years of indirect and direct tax experience in public accounting or corporate tax
• Hands-on experience preparing and filing US Sales and Use Tax returns
• Technical knowledge of global VAT/GST in SaaS environments
• Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERPs and financial data flows to tax reporting
• Hands-on experience with indirect tax tools like Avalara or Vertex
• Exposure to tax automation implementation
• Broad tax and accounting fundamentals knowledge
• Advanced Excel skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or advanced degree preferred
