What you will do

• Provide indirect tax planning and consulting services to multi-state and multi-national clients.
• Research and draft technical memorandums discussing potential sales and use tax consequences of business transactions.
• Perform state tax nexus determinations, taxability analyses, and quantify potential indirect tax exposures.
• Handle indirect tax controversies, including voluntary disclosure agreements, reverse audits, and audit defense.
• Lead the implementation and management of clients' sales tax software (e.g., Avalara, Vertex).
• Lead the delivery of client engagements, serving as the primary point of contact and guiding junior consultants.

Requirements

• Master's or advanced degree in Taxation, CPA, CMI, or JD/LLM.
• 6+ years of indirect tax experience, preferably within Big 4 or large CPA firms.
• Advanced state tax research and professional writing skills.
• Proven ability to lead and supervise teams while managing multiple engagements.
• Proficiency with tax technology, specifically Avalara and Vertex.
• Must be based in one of the specified US office locations for hybrid work.
