Salary: $198,000 to $250,000

What you will do

• Architect and build backend systems end-to-end: database design, API endpoints, triggered events, and data pipelines in Node.js with Postgres.
• Partner with Infra/SRE on reliability, deployment, observability, failure modes, and operational readiness.
• Drive platform initiatives like improving data ingestion, third-party integrations, and reducing engineering toil.
• Own incident response, blameless post-mortems, and prevent recurrence.
• Mentor team members and make architectural tradeoffs for production systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years production software engineering experience owning backend systems on collaborative teams
• Strong command of Node.js (TypeScript preferred), relational databases (query plans, indexing, data patterns), cloud systems, and observability
• Ownership mindset: identify, flag, and solve problems proactively
• Collaboration focus over credentials

Nice to have

• Experience with high-throughput data pipelines, event-driven systems, or production load operations
