What you will do
- Manage federal, state, and local transporter permitting and tax filings, including IFTA, NY and CT HUT, and 2290 Heavy Vehicle Use Tax.
- Maintain digital records for regulatory items such as spill plans, permitting, and tax filings.
- Oversee truck and trailer registration and titling processes.
- Provide Samsara administrative assistance and training as needed.
- Update fleet asset lists to ensure accuracy for procurement, insurance, and inventory management.
- Review compliance regulations and update internal SOPs and spill plans in collaboration with Transportation Managers.
Requirements
- Two years of experience in Transportation Compliance is required.
- Must be based in or able to work from the Asheboro, NC facility on a hybrid schedule (2 home/3 office).
- Ability to clearly communicate remotely with personnel across the country while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Proficiency using Microsoft products (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload and problem solve without direct supervision.
Nice to have
- Four-year degree in logistics, manufacturing, or compliance related fields.
- Experience with electronic log devices (Samsara), DISA driver qualification, PeopleSoft, and NetSuite.
- Knowledge of Canadian Hours of Service and customs border crossing requirements.
