What you will do
- Greet and assist patients, managing the waiting area and ensuring efficient clinic flow.
- Verify patient identification and perform insurance eligibility and authorization checks.
- Collect and account for patient fees, including copays, deductibles, and coinsurance.
- Manage admissions and discharges within the Central Registry and prepare required reports.
- Perform general clerical duties, including scheduling physician appointments and managing office supplies.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to discuss patient issues and project a positive company image.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience as an office clerk with basic math, accounting, and cash handling skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in basic computer programs and typical office equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for professional patient interactions.
- Ability to work independently under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Nice to have
- Previous healthcare experience.
- Experience in front desk, admissions, billing, and/or collections.
