Equipment Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Abingdon, United Kingdom; expected to work in the office 4+ days per week

What you will do

• Maintain and service semiconductor manufacturing equipment and cleanroom infrastructure.
• Perform daily equipment checks, preventive maintenance, repairs, calibration, and process documentation.
• Manage equipment supplies, assets, inventory, and facility infrastructure upkeep.
• Monitor cleanroom user activity to ensure safe and correct operation of tools.
• Coordinate with external service providers on major equipment repairs and upgrades.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in a cleanroom or chemical laboratory within semiconductor manufacturing.
• H&D or bachelor’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Optics, or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with semiconductor equipment installation, preventive maintenance planning, and troubleshooting.
• Technical expertise in at least one semiconductor process area, such as thin-film deposition, lithography, or etch.
• Experience with SPC systems, equipment control software, data logging systems, and CMMS.
• Experience with vacuum technology, high-purity gas, chemical delivery systems, and cross-functional supplier collaboration.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Optics, or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience starting up and commissioning facility systems.
