Senior Technician (EEE (Teaching))

Location: Manchester, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom; Oxford Road

Salary: £33,002–£36,636 per annum, depending on relevant experience

What you will do

• Provide specialist technical support for practical teaching across Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
• Prepare, maintain and improve laboratories, equipment, instrumentation, components and teaching facilities.
• Support students during practical activities, undergraduate design projects, technical societies and engineering competitions.
• Provide technical guidance and training to academic staff, researchers, students and project groups.
• Carry out diagnostic analysis, fault-finding, equipment management, PCB manufacture and repair, and bespoke hardware production.
• Promote safe, effective and efficient working practices across teaching and research environments.

Requirements

• Relevant technical expertise in electronics and Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
• Experience with PCB design, construction and repair.
• Knowledge of microcontrollers, embedded systems, fault-finding and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to provide technical advice, practical guidance and specialist training to students and staff.
• Commitment to safe laboratory practice and reliable operation of teaching facilities.
• Ability to work at the Manchester, Oxford Road location.
