TL;DR

Operations Engineer (Aerospace): Design analytical tools to evaluate delivery timelines, production capacity, manufacturing processes, and supply chain constraints with an accent on production scheduling, risk reduction, and operational optimization. Focus on developing process flow models, monitoring KPIs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across engineering, manufacturing, and launch operations.

Los Angeles, CA. Ability to travel up to 25-50% of the time. Must be a U.S. Person per ITAR regulations (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual).

Salary: $90,000 – $140,000 + equity

What you will do

  • Design analytical tools for delivery timelines, production capacity, manufacturing processes, and supply chain constraints to support decision-making.
  • Lead development and execution of production schedules and output targets across programs.
  • Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to align with milestone plans and reduce risks while enhancing quality, throughput, safety, and cost.
  • Create process flow models to simulate production behavior and align output with program requirements.
  • Develop analytical models and visual dashboards for strategic space planning and operational decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement and monitor KPIs across functional organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business discipline.
  • 2+ years in fast-paced production or startup environment.
  • 1+ years using Excel, SQL, Python/R for analysis or modeling dynamic systems.
  • 1+ years using Smartsheet or equivalent scheduling tools and tracking critical path.
  • Experience with inventory, production, and capacity planning, including MRP/ERP systems.
  • Ability to work irregular hours for proposals or critical timelines. Active Top Secret clearance preferred; willing to pursue if not cleared.

Nice to have

  • Power BI and discrete-event simulation tools.
  • Quantitative analysis: statistics, data analysis, cost-benefit evaluation, visualization.
  • Industrial, operations, process, or manufacturing engineering in development-stage production.
  • Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement.
  • Background in management science, operations, or industrial engineering.
