Simulation Engineer

TL;DR

Simulation Engineer: Develop discrete-event simulation models to evaluate performance of material-handling and automated systems with an accent on data analysis, statistical experiments, and model validation. Focus on crafting low- to high-fidelity models, interpreting outputs, and communicating insights to support pre-sales, delivery, and customer decisions.

Location: Hybrid schedule in Grand Rapids (MI), Wauwatosa (WI), Atlanta (GA), Plano (TX), or Salt Lake City (UT), United States. We are unable to support Visa sponsorship or transfer for this role.

Salary: $65,000 - $140,000

What you will do

• Develop discrete-event simulation models to evaluate material-handling and automated systems performance.
• Build low- to high-fidelity models for pre-sales and delivery activities, including performance analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and project teams to define requirements, scope, and timelines.
• Collect, validate data, detail model assumptions, and conduct simulation scenarios and statistical runs.
• Interpret results and communicate findings to teams and customers via presentations and reviews.
• Deliver tasks on schedule within quality and budget, while improving simulation tools and processes.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the US; no visa sponsorship or transfer supported.
• Solid understanding of discrete-event simulation concepts, methods, and processes.
• Proficiency in structured programming (e.g., Python) and statistical/quantitative analysis.
• Experience with simulation tools like Plant Simulation (AutoMod a plus); familiarity with AutoCAD/3D modeling helpful.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 2–5+ years in simulation model development, system modeling, or performance analysis.
