What you will do

• Support prototype builds by wiring, modifying, reviewing, and troubleshooting electrical systems for plugged and battery-operated appliances.
• Build, maintain, and modify validation rigs, test fixtures, and laboratory setups for product development.
• Perform electrical safety testing including leakage current, dielectric strength, earth continuity, and abnormal operation simulations.
• Review wiring layouts, component selection, creepage/clearance distances, and construction practices for safety.
• Collect and communicate test results, build feedback, and safety risks to engineering and compliance teams.
• Assist with internal reviews, pre-compliance activities, and external lab testing.

Requirements

• Strong practical knowledge of electrical systems in household appliances, including mains voltage, low voltage, and battery-powered systems.
• Solid understanding of insulation, earthing, leakage current, dielectric testing, creepage/clearance, and IEC 60335 safety principles.
• Hands-on experience with wiring, prototype modification, electrical rework, fault simulation, and laboratory test equipment like leakage testers and hipot testers.
• Electrical technician, electrician, or equivalent hands-on background; experience in R&D labs or product development preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, safety-focused mindset, problem-solving, and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with consumer products, household appliances, or regulated electrical equipment.
• Familiarity with battery management systems (BMS), charging systems, and protection concepts.
