Power Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

Power Systems Engineer (Aerospace): Develop SPICE representations and high-fidelity simulations of power system parasitics, energy budgets, and fault tolerance with an accent on circuit modeling, validation testing, and reliability analysis. Location: Los Angeles, CA. Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual) per ITAR export control regulations.

Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 + equity

What you will do

• Develop SPICE models for power system parasitics including battery impedance, harness reactance, and filters.
• Plan and execute test campaigns to validate models against real-world data.
• Code simulations of in-flight power and energy budgets.
• Design for fault tolerance, reliability, and EMI compatibility.
• Perform impedance and loop gain measurements on electrical hardware.
• Influence spacecraft power architecture decisions through first-principles analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.
• 1+ years in Avionics Systems, Electrical Power Systems, Electrical Hardware Design, or similar.
• Strong grasp of circuit theory and power/energy balance fundamentals.
• Ability to reason through fault tolerance and reliability design.
• Familiarity with FMEA.
• Experience with LTSpice or similar SPICE simulator.

Nice to Have

• Experience writing Python, Rust, or similar for test automation.
• Ability to perform impedance and loop gain measurements.
• Experience constructing circuit models of batteries and harnesses.
