What you will do

• Develop insight into commodity markets, including trends, cost drivers, pricing, lead-times, and supplier capabilities.
• Create and execute commodity strategies aligned with technology needs, total cost, capacity, inventory, and risk mitigation.
• Lead cross-functional teams in supplier rationalization, development, dual sourcing, and supply chain projects.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance, and negotiations for price, quality, delivery, and contracts.
• Conduct supplier visits, assessments, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support corporate goals in quality, cost, customer service, and inventory management.

Requirements

• Location: Malaysia - Penang
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA a plus).
• Minimum 10 years of purchasing experience; 3-5 years in supply chain/strategic sourcing.
• APICS or CPM Certification highly desired.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of purchasing processes, source selection, cost analysis, and legal aspects.
• Technical competence in understanding prints/specs and manufacturing processes.
