What you will do
- Lead the design and continuous improvement of Canada's compliance programs, covering financial crime, payments regulation, consumer protection, and privacy.
- Act as a senior authority in engagements with regulators such as FINTRAC, the Bank of Canada, and provincial authorities.
- Oversee regulatory registrations and authorizations to ensure maintains its legal standing in Canada.
- Drive the effectiveness of the financial crime program, including transaction monitoring, KYC/CDD, and mandatory reporting.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to integrate compliance into the design and launch of new features.
- Provide data-driven reporting on Canada's compliance and risk posture to the Board of Directors and Global Leadership.
Requirements
- 8+ years of compliance experience within Canada's financial services sector.
- Strong command of Canadian regulatory environments, including hands-on experience managing examinations.
- Proven track record of managing financial services licensing and registration with FINTRAC and the Bank of Canada.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Must be based in or be able to work from the Burnaby, BC office 3+ days a week.
Nice to have
- CAMS or equivalent certification.
- Familiarity with Québec's regulatory environment, including Revenue Québec.
