What you will do

• Prepare monthly and annual GAAP financial statements and complex footnote disclosures to ensure audit-readiness.
• Draft and implement technical accounting policies for startups, specifically focusing on ASC 606, ASC 718, and capitalized software.
• Build and monitor internal control frameworks and quality control processes for client deliverables.
• Manage the "close-to-report" cycle using cloud-based tech stacks and streamline reporting.
• Lead clients through their first institutional audits and act as the primary liaison with external audit firms.
• Provide strategic management accounting, focusing on cash flow, unit economics (CAC, LTV, Churn), and scenario modeling.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably including time as an Audit Manager at a regional or national firm.
• Exceptional command of U.S. GAAP and the ability to research complex technical positions independently.
• CPA certification is preferred.
• Expert-level proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage Intacct.
• Experience with automated AP/AR and payroll tools such as Bill.com, Gusto, Rippling, and Expensify.
• Must be based in the United States to align with US GAAP and company benefit structures.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting high-growth startups in SaaS, FinTech, Biotech/Life Sciences, or Web3/Crypto.
• Exposure to Series A/B due diligence and investor presentation materials.
• Familiarity with R&D tax credits and multi-state nexus considerations.
• Experience transitioning companies from spreadsheets to integrated ERP systems.
