Financial Controller (Digital Assets)

Location: New York, United States; hybrid collaboration with managers and teams deciding which 10+ days per month employees come into the office

Annual base salary: $140,000–$160,000 USD for positions based in New York, excluding equity, bonuses, and other additional compensation.

What you will do

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for hirify.global Treasury’s OTC operating entity and BVI holding and operating entities.
• Prepare US GAAP financial statements, sub-consolidations, intercompany balances, management accounts, variance analyses, and board or investor reporting packages.
• Manage intercompany transactions, elimination policies, service fees, funding flows, cost allocations, loans, and transfer pricing support.
• Maintain BVI entity books and coordinate with offshore counsel and registered agents on governance, equity accounting, cash positions, and support arrangements.
• Apply ASC 820 and ASU 2023-08 to digital asset accounting, reconcile on-chain and off-chain positions, and monitor SEC, FASB, and IASB guidance.
• Maintain internal controls, lead external audit coordination, build a small accounting team, and automate reconciliations and reporting with Python or other data tools.

Requirements

• Active CPA license.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in financial services or trading.
• Strong US GAAP expertise, including consolidation, intercompany accounting, equity method, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
• Experience managing multi-entity close processes and offshore structures.
• Professional judgment, multi-entity governance experience, cross-functional collaboration, and scalable systems thinking.

Nice to have

• Experience with BVI or Cayman entities and digital asset accounting, including ASU 2023-08.
• Python or data analysis proficiency.
• Experience in prime brokerage, OTC derivatives, structured finance, or financial services at a Big Four or national accounting firm.
• ERP implementation experience.
