TL;DR
Financial Controller (Fintech): Managing financial reporting, general ledger accuracy, and control frameworks for complex multi-jurisdictional entities with an accent on US GAAP compliance and offshore governance. Focus on digital asset accounting, intercompany transaction management, and automating financial systems to support a rapidly scaling digital asset business.
Location: Must be based in or able to work from New York (Hybrid: 10+ days/month in-office)
Salary: $140,000 – $160,000 USD

What you will do
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process for all in-scope entities.
- Prepare US GAAP financial statements, including intercompany balances and sub-consolidations.
- Manage BVI entity governance, equity accounting, and intercompany support arrangements.
- Apply ASC 820 and ASU 2023-08 standards for crypto asset fair value measurement.
- Produce management accounts, variance analysis, and board/investor reporting packages.
- Lead a small accounting team and partner with Technology to automate reconciliations and ERP enhancements.
Requirements
- Active CPA certification required.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in financial services or trading.
- Strong technical expertise in US GAAP (consolidation, intercompany, equity method, revenue recognition).
- Proven experience managing multi-entity close processes and offshore structures.
- Must be able to work in a hybrid environment in New York.
Nice to have
- Experience with BVI/Cayman entity structures.
- Background in prime brokerage, OTC derivatives, or structured finance.
- Proficiency in Python or data analysis tools.
- Big 4 or national firm experience in financial services.
- Experience with ERP implementations.
