Electronics Technician (Quantum Computing)

TL;DR

Electronics Technician (Control Systems): Performing PCB assembly, testing, and debugging of electronic devices for quantum computers with an accent on hardware characterization and rework. Focus on troubleshooting electronic assemblies and maintaining lab safety and calibration standards.

Location: On-site in Boulder, CO (Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm)

Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 annually

What you will do

• Perform PCB assembly testing, rework, and modifications.
• Test and debug electronic circuits and systems using electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Execute device tests and meticulously document procedures and results.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in electronic assemblies.
• Manage lab supplies, maintain the ESD awareness program, and oversee equipment calibration schedules.
• Perform quality control checks on hardware and maintain lab safety.

Requirements

• A.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent on-the-job experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on electronics experience in a lab or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in soldering and desoldering (SMD and through-hole) using soldering irons and hot air guns.
• Ability to interpret basic electrical schematics and layouts.
• Experience working with digital multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Must be based in or be able to work on-site in Boulder, CO.

Nice to have

• IPC J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610 Certification.
• Experience with RF / microwave testing and measurements.
• Basic Linux command line navigation and file operations.
• Basic Python scripting skills for automated test procedures.
