Senior Manager, Engineering (AI Agents)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, California; three days per week in the San Francisco office are required. The engineering team is based in the United States.

US base salary range: $133,000–$391,500 per year. Additional compensation may include an annual performance bonus, stock, and other incentives.

What you will do

• Lead the development and delivery of hirify.global’s AI Agent platform for autonomous customer support, sales, and service use cases.
• Hire, manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team of 4–8 engineers.
• Plan initiatives, manage the product roadmap, prioritize work with Product Management, and ensure predictable, high-quality delivery.
• Guide software architecture, technical designs, code reviews, technology decisions, and engineering best practices.
• Drive reliability through SLOs, SLIs, observability, incident response, root cause analysis, and on-call practices.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, SRE, Forward Deployed Engineering, Support, and other engineering teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years leading or managing software engineering teams and 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years developing enterprise SaaS software, with a strong background in distributed systems and modern software architectures.
• Experience with GenAI or LLM-based systems and AI-assisted software development tools.
• Strong technical background in Java or JVM-based backend systems, microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, and scalable service architectures.
• Experience operating production services, including observability, incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability practices.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus strong hiring and team-building experience.

Nice to have

• 1+ year building AI Agent platforms for customer experience, including voicebots, chatbots, or AI assistants.
• Experience with GCP, embeddings, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, AI Agent architectures, or model integration.
