Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to work onsite in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY

Compensation: $180,000 – $390,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Design and build production-grade AI agents for Federal and state-level government institutions.
• Partner with leadership to define capture motion, market strategy, and product components.
• Collaborate directly with public sector institutions to identify urgent needs and novel impact opportunities.
• Surface unmet needs and prototype new tools to guide the evolution of the core platform.
• Work cross-functionally with research, product, and platform teams to shape AI agent development.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work onsite in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY.
• Full stack software development skills and familiarity with AI development processes.
• Comfort working directly with customers to solve real-world problems and understand workflows.
• Passion for public sector work and institutional transformation.

Nice to have

• Experience building conversational or long-horizon agents using proprietary or open-source frameworks.
• Track record of navigating ambiguity in founding teams or new enterprise initiatives.
• Prior understanding of government procurement, regulation, and partnership complexities.
