Software Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Cottonwood Heights, Utah, with hybrid work requiring three days per week in the office, or remote within the United States. A mandatory in-person interview is required before an offer.

What you will do

• Lead architecture, quality standards, and technical direction for fulfillment, warehouse management, and order management systems.
• Design AI and agentic workflows that improve engineering throughput, quality, and reliability.
• Lead a small development team through software design, development, testing, and delivery.
• Improve API documentation, observability, monitoring, alerting, and system dependability for engineering stakeholders.
• Design agentic quality gates that support rapid and safe development iteration.
• Collaborate with product, design, operations, and project management stakeholders while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience, including e-commerce fulfillment, order management, and warehouse management.
• Deep expertise in Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Node.js, software architecture, and enterprise design patterns.
• Strong experience with relational databases, SQL query optimization, NoSQL, and document-oriented databases.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD tooling, and GCP or AWS.
• Proven experience leading software development teams and delivering production-grade software.
• Excellent English communication skills are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in outdoor retail, multi-brand e-commerce, or high-SKU retail environments.
• Experience with omni-channel fulfillment and order management systems at scale.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite.
