Salary: $405,000 - $485,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Establish and lead the Passport team, hiring early engineers and setting the technical direction.
• Own end-to-end engineering execution, including planning, prioritization, delivery quality, and incident response.
• Partner with safeguards, product, and design to shape the roadmap for identity verification.
• Collaborate with customers and GTM teams to translate trust requirements into engineering priorities.
• Drive compliance and platform-readiness in partnership with security and legal teams.
• Recruit, onboard, and grow a high-performing team of engineers.

Requirements

• Proven experience taking a product or platform from 0 to 1, including early architectural decisions.
• Strong engineering management skills focused on mentorship, feedback, and team growth.
• Experience leading teams building critical systems that other internal teams depend on.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, sales, and customer success teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Visa sponsorship is available, though not guaranteed for every candidate.

Nice to have

• Experience building customer verification or identity systems with third-party providers.
• Background designing centralized policy or trust systems.
• Experience with trust & safety tooling and integrating human review into automated decisioning.
• Experience with multi-tenant platforms consumed by first-party and third-party apps.
• Background owning compliance and regulatory work within an engineering organization.
