What you will do

• Prepare and maintain detailed commissioning schedules and proactively plan activities and milestones.
• Execute commissioning ensuring compliance with specifications, contracts, and supplier requirements for efficient client turnover.
• Conduct system walkdowns to establish completion status and identify outstanding items.
• Oversee protection system commissioning as SME, including design, settings, testing, relay calibration, and AC acceptance load checks.
• Review and approve documentation, test results, and provide troubleshooting support.
• Perform post-commissioning reviews of checklists and reports, SWMS inventory validation, and support continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Qualified SME in Protection System design, settings/configurations, installation, testing, commissioning, and/or NERC CIP ESP/Security Zone commissioning.
• OSHA 10 Hour Training.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding: background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search.
• Act as lead person providing functional direction to technicians and craft (no formal management).
• Adhere to safety and quality standards.
• Must be able to work in high voltage substation environments with physical demands: lift 50 lbs, climb, work in extreme temperatures, cramped spaces, hazardous equipment.

Nice to have

• NICET or NETA Certification.
• 8+ years of relevant startup experience.
• Knowledge of project manuals, contracts, supervisory, communication, planning, multi-tasking, problem-solving, computer skills, discipline technical principles, tools/equipment.
