Field Service Technician (Energy Storage)

TL;DR

Field Service Technician (Energy Storage): Maintain and ensure the operation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in West Texas with an accent on preventive and corrective maintenance. Focus on troubleshooting system faults, conducting electrical testing, and executing HV Switching programs to ensure system availability.

Location: On-site in College Station, TX (with initial assignments in Snyder and Fort Stockton, TX)

Salary: $37 - $50.48 per hour

What you will do

• Perform scheduled preventative and unscheduled corrective maintenance on energy storage products to maintain warranty and system availability.
• Troubleshoot and respond to system faults, outages, and customer concerns regarding system functionality.
• Write and execute HV Switching programs, issue HV Access permits, and perform maintenance on HV assets.
• Monitor faults, alarms, and performance of generating units via SCADA and troubleshoot network connectivity.
• Maintain accurate site records, daily reports, and update online case logs for all fault resolutions.
• Collaborate closely with Site Managers, Operations, Engineering, and HSE teams to ensure safe and compliant work.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in large-scale Battery Energy Storage (BESS) or energy generation projects.
• Electrical trades experience with troubleshooting power electronics and medium/high voltage controls (AC/DC).
• Must be based in the US and pass E-Verify.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work at heights, in extreme environments, and lift at least 50lbs frequently.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Nice to have

• Certifications or previous training in renewable energy power inverters.
• Understanding of equipment networking and various programming languages.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 40%.
