Electrical Field Engineer (SCADA)

Location: Fully remote within the United States or local/in-office in Lakewood, Colorado. The role involves frequent field work and travel of 50–75%; onsite construction support and supervision are required. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 per year, based on the Denver, Colorado labor market.

What you will do

• Perform equipment and control system troubleshooting, relay testing, start-up, commissioning, and field investigations.
• Provide onsite construction support and supervision, coordinate with engineers, owners, vendors, contractors, and other project stakeholders, and verify compliance with designs.
• Program, wire, install, and test protective relaying, control, communications, SCADA, and PLC systems.
• Design electric power systems, including one-line and three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring, grounding, conduit and cable routing, and equipment specifications.
• Prepare testing, troubleshooting, construction progress, cost, budget, study, and scheduling documents.
• Review the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel for quality and accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution; an Electric Power option is preferred.
• At least 2 years of engineering and relevant field experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and power system software such as EasyPower, ETAP, or SKM.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, independent judgment, organization, attention to detail, and relationship-building abilities.
• Full-time United States work authorization is required. FE or PE licensure is a plus but not required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Omicron test equipment, apparatus testing, and NETA standards.
• OSHA 10 certification.
