Field Technician (Electric Power Engineering)

What you will do

• Perform equipment, control system, communications troubleshooting, relay testing, start-up, and commissioning services.
• Provide onsite construction support and supervision, including attending meetings and managing RFIs.
• Program, wire, and install protective relaying, control systems, SCADA, and PLC systems.
• Assist in detailed design of electric power systems, including one-line/three-line diagrams and wiring schematics.
• Prepare comprehensive field testing, troubleshooting, and construction progress reports.
• Maintain strong client relationships while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
• Experience: 2-5 years of NETA Testing Experience or equivalent.
• Licensure/Certifications: NETA II/III or NICET II.
• Authorization: Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and a strong command of the English language.
• Ability to lift 50lbs and willingness to travel frequently (50-75%).

Nice to have

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and power system software (EasyPower, ETAP, or SKM).
• Experience with Omicron test equipment.
• SEL equipment installation and configuration, including RTAC experience.
• Experience with SCADA protocols such as IEC61850, DNP3, and MODBUS.
• Relay/SCADA panel wiring experience in substation environments.
