What you will do

• Own the end-to-end external annotation and review vendor strategy, from sourcing to performance management.
• Build a vendor pipeline by identifying and engaging BPOs, labeling firms, and crowdsourcing platforms.
• Run structured evaluations, including pilots and quality benchmarking, to recommend scaling partners.
• Translate internal data quality standards and methodologies into detailed vendor specifications.
• Establish the operating model for managing partners at scale, including scorecards and escalation paths.

Requirements

• 5+ years in vendor management, BPO/outsourcing partnerships, or strategic sourcing.
• Proven track record of building or scaling a vendor function from an early stage.
• Ability to deploy apps/agents using AI coding tools for internal dashboards and trackers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for managing external partners.
• Ability to operate with ambiguity and manage multiple concurrent partner relationships.
• Must be based in San Jose, CA for full-time onsite work.

• Direct experience managing data annotation, labeling, or content review vendors.
• Experience at a frontier AI lab, autonomous vehicle company, or similar data-heavy organization.
