Brake Control Software Engineer (Automotive)

TL;DR

Brake Control Software Engineer (Embedded/Automotive): Delivering high-performance control software for brake systems (ABS, TCS, ESC) with an accent on model-based development and C/C++ implementation. Focus on optimizing vehicle dynamics, ensuring safety regulation compliance, and validating software via HIL and vehicle testing.

Location: Hybrid (Milford, Michigan). Must report to office at least 3 times a week.

What you will do

• Develop and implement control algorithms for ABS, TCS, and ESC using MATLAB/Simulink or C/C++.
• Define calibration strategies and promote robust coding practices in controls and software implementation.
• Conduct software unit tests, HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) tests, and vehicle tests to verify system performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with System, Software, and Feature Engineers in an Agile environment.
• Analyze empirical data to meet physics-based requirements with efficient designs.
• Mentor new employees and develop tools and libraries to enhance team capabilities.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical), Computer Science, or equivalent degree.
• Minimum 2+ years of engineering experience in embedded controls or software development.
• Proficiency in C language, Simulink, MATLAB, DOORS, GIT, and Jira.
• Strong knowledge of control system theory and its application to embedded systems.
• Must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future (H1-B, OPT, etc.).
• Ability to perform high-performance driving for vehicle testing.

Nice to have

• In-depth knowledge of algorithm development and calibration for ABS control.
• Experience with plant modeling and analysis tools, including MIL, SIL, and HIL testing.
• Experience with Vector tools such as INCA and MDA.
• Passion for high-performance vehicles and track driving experience.
