What you will do

• Design, prototype, and test production-grade embedded vehicle firmware.
• Implement and optimize applications within real-time operating system (RTOS) environments.
• Develop communication protocols for device-to-device and compute module interaction.
• Collaborate with autonomy and hardware teams on vehicle bring-up and software deployment.
• Create testing frameworks and harnesses at unit, integration, and system levels.
• Work with algorithms teams to leverage hardware acceleration opportunities.

Requirements

• Must be based in the San Francisco-Bay Area, CA
• Expert-level proficiency in C or C++.
• Strong knowledge of communication protocols including SPI, UART, CAN, and TCP/UDP.
• Experience with RTOS environments, specifically FreeRTOS or SafeRTOS.
• Familiarity with safety-critical systems and processes.
• Experience with electronics test equipment and hardware debugging tools.

Nice to have

• Experience in the automotive or transit industries.
• Knowledge of CAN and DBC protocols.
• Experience with time synchronization protocols like NTP and PTP.
