TL;DR

Benefits Manager (HR/Fintech): Managing the design, administration, and compliance of US employee benefits programs with an accent on regulatory adherence and vendor management. Focus on optimizing plan design, ensuring ERISA/HIPAA compliance, and enhancing the participant experience.

Location: Hybrid (New York, NY / Newark, NJ). Must be based in the United States.

Salary: $130,000 – $140,000 USD annual

What you will do

  • Manage day-to-day administration of health, welfare, and retirement benefit programs.
  • Ensure plan operations are administered in accordance with plan documents and federal, state, and local laws.
  • Oversee third-party vendor relationships, monitoring performance against SLAs and contractual obligations.
  • Analyze benefits data to recommend plan design enhancements and maintain market competitiveness.
  • Develop and oversee communication strategies to improve employee education and program utilization.
  • Maintain internal controls over plan administration and lead support for internal and external audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in benefits administration, total rewards, or a related HR function.
  • Broad knowledge of U.S. employee benefits programs and regulations (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ACA).
  • Experience supporting multi-state employee populations and managing complex vendor relationships.
  • Proficiency with HRIS (Workday), payroll systems (ADP Globalview), and benefits platforms.
  • Must be located in or able to work hybrid in New York, NY or Newark, NJ.
