TL;DR

Senior Claims Examiner (Property): Adjudicates moderate to complex 1st Party commercial property claims with an accent on coverage assessment, full investigations, and business income losses management. Focus on resolving claims accurately, drafting coverage and denial letters, managing reserves, and identifying fraudulent claims.

Location: Hybrid - Chicago, Scottsdale, Connecticut, Boston, New York - Manhattan (requires two (2) days in our office weekly)

Salary: $85-$95k

What you will do

• Adjust and resolve moderate to complex 1st Party commercial property claims across all phases
• Review coverage, conduct in-depth investigations, and apply it to losses
• Manage business income losses and period of restoration
• Document claim files, assess reserves, and draft coverage/denial letters
• Identify emerging exposures, trends, and suspected fraud for special investigations
• Drive best practices to manage expenses and participate in claims projects

Requirements

• 3+ years of 1st Party Commercial claims handling experience
• Advanced knowledge of claims analysis, adjusting practices, and documentation standards
• Experience with litigated claims and negotiating settlements
• Experience mentoring and training other claims examiners
• Advanced analytical skills and strong verbal/written communication
• Active insurance adjuster’s license
• B.A./B.S. degree preferred
