Restoration Operations Manager

TL;DR

Restoration Operations Manager (Stormwater & Vegetation): Build and lead boots-on-the-ground operations for stormwater compliance, erosion control, and vegetation services across Iowa and Southern Minnesota with an accent on field execution, crew management, and regulatory adherence. Focus on establishing regional office and shop, managing fleet and equipment, scaling startup operations, and executing construction contracts.

Location: Onsite in Eastern/Central Iowa (Cedar Rapids area) with hands-on field presence across Iowa and Southern Minnesota; not remote or hybrid. Must be based locally.

Salary: $110,000–$140,000 per year

What you will do

• Build, lead, and manage regional teams including supervisors, technicians, operators, and seasonal labor with daily jobsite presence.
• Establish and operate small regional office, equipment shop, and fleet of vehicles and construction equipment in Cedar Rapids area.
• Execute SWPPP implementation, erosion/sediment control, stormwater inspections, vegetation establishment, and management.
• Coordinate staffing, logistics, and subcontractors for multiple projects while ensuring compliance with plans, permits, and regulations.
• Manage contracts, support business development, pursue new opportunities, and maintain client/regulatory relationships.

Requirements

• 10+ years progressive leadership in stormwater compliance, erosion/sediment control, restoration, or vegetation management.
• Demonstrated experience managing field crews, equipment, shops, and multi-project operations.
• Strong knowledge of SWPPP, erosion control BMPs, and vegetation practices.
• Comfortable in construction environments with extensive travel in Iowa and Southern Minnesota.
• Valid driver's license; must maintain strong on-site presence.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. (E-Verify).

Nice to have

• Current residence in Eastern or Central Iowa.
• Established relationships with Iowa/Southern Minnesota contractors, developers, agencies.
• Experience launching regional construction/compliance operations.
• Class A or B CDL.
