What you will do

• Lead a team of 6-10 with 50% hands-on coding in Node.js and 50% leadership, delivering scalable applications.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices in development, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to create user experiences and drive technical planning.
• Define strategies, prototype innovations, mitigate risks, and align with business goals.
• Hire, manage performance, and foster a culture of inclusion, learning, and excellence.
• Coordinate cross-functionally, resolve technical challenges, and advocate for system health.

Requirements

• Must be located in or able to work remotely from specified EMEA countries: Spain, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Turkey, UK
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: OOP principles, designing scalable systems, clean testable code.
• Strong SQL: complex queries, data structures, query performance.
• APIs and distributed systems: debugging integrations, data flows.
• Problem-solving: root cause analysis across code, data, systems.
• Production environments: handling incidents, debugging, escalations.

Nice to have

• Cross-browser/platform development experience.
• Node.js, JS knowledge.
• Open-source contributions or multi-domain expertise.
