What you will do
- Lead three engineering squads delivering AI-powered features into SaaS products for accountancy, payroll, and practice management.
- Provide genuine technical guidance and review architectural decisions to ensure sound technical direction.
- Champion AI-first development, ensuring developers and QAs use AI tools effectively in daily workflows.
- Run agile delivery with a focus on tangible outcomes rather than ceremonies.
- Coach, mentor, and grow engineers through structured 1:1s and honest feedback.
- Collaborate with product teams to translate business requirements into well-scoped technical work.
Requirements
- Proven background as a software engineer with experience writing production code.
- Experience managing and growing engineering teams.
- Deep understanding of AI concepts, including LLM functionality, RAG, and fine-tuning.
- Track record of delivering quality software, preferably in SaaS or e-commerce environments.
- Expertise in Agile software development and delivery.
- Must be based in or able to work in a hybrid capacity in Warwick, UK.
Nice to have
- Experience with .NET, C#, JavaScript, or Azure.
- Hands-on experience building AI-powered features.
- Background in accountancy, payroll, HR, or practice management software.
- Experience managing multiple teams simultaneously.
