What you will do

• Provide operational leadership to BioSim and ChemSim divisions, identifying synergies in resource allocation and scaling systems.
• Architect dynamic headcount models and manage multi-million dollar compute budgets to align hiring with technical milestones.
• Execute end-to-end tactical delivery, tracking velocity across complex milestones and shifting resources as requirements evolve.
• Spearhead the Chemical Simulation business unit expansion, operationalizing verticals like Batteries, Catalysis, and Semiconductors.
• Diagnose organizational friction and resolve debt using forensic root-cause analysis to maintain a high-performing culture.
• Implement frontier AI and automation technologies to streamline internal reporting and track revenue objectives.

Requirements

• Deep operational leadership experience as a COO, Managing Director, or Head of Ops at venture-backed scaled startups.
• Proven track record of scaling companies from Series B through to mature operations or successful exits.
• Technical fluency in AI or heavy-compute environments to bridge the gap between research scientists and executives.
• Expertise in conducting root-cause analysis on operational delivery failures and human dynamics.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling new business verticals or "startup-within-a-startup" units.
• Track record of implementing AI/LLM tools to automate internal business functions.
• Familiarity with Life Sciences, Materials Science, or US Government contracting frameworks.
