Field Services Team Leader (Solar)

TL;DR

Field Services Team Leader (Solar): Leading and overseeing field operations for utility-scale PV solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) with an accent on site leadership, safety, and asset performance. Focus on troubleshooting AC/DC electrical systems, managing O&M activities, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and NFPA standards.

Location: Must be located within 60 minutes of the project site in Elberon, VA

What you will do

• Lead solar PV, BESS, and substation operations and maintenance (O&M) efforts, including advanced troubleshooting.
• Provide performance and developmental leadership to a team of 4–8 technicians.
• Act as a safety leader by identifying hazards, correcting unsafe work, and collaborating with the Regional Safety Committee.
• Manage third-party contractors and vendors, developing work scopes and ensuring adherence to operational standards.
• Maintain high-quality documentation of O&M activities using CMMS, SAP, and SCADA systems.
• Support construction and commissioning activities to ensure quality execution and smooth transition to operations.

Requirements

• Electrical trade qualification with at least 3 years of experience working on utility-scale electrical systems.
• Experience with utility-scale PV systems, specifically SMA Sunny Central (Kodiak), TMEIC, or Sungrow inverters.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards, NFPA 70e, and Lockout/Tagout/Grounding protocols.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid TWIC card within the first 90 days of employment.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Proven ability to lead a team; 3+ years of supervisory experience is a plus.

Nice to have

• NFPA 70E and OSHA 30 Certification.
• College degree in a related field.
• Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Experience with ATI PV Array Tracker systems (V2, V2.5, V3).
