People Compliance Lead (HR Operations): Designing and operationalizing people compliance programs, controls, and policies for a high-growth food tech platform with an accent on US employment law and audit readiness. Focus on scaling workforce management systems, minimizing regulatory risks, and maintaining rigorous documentation across the employee lifecycle.

Location: Remote (US) or Hybrid (Boston, MA). Must be based in the US; no visa sponsorship provided.

Salary: $138,499–$182,054 annually

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain a People Compliance roadmap covering onboarding, I-9/E-Verify, and pay transparency.
  • Monitor federal, state, and local employment laws to evolve internal programs and the Employee Handbook.
  • Build and maintain SOPs and a central repository for people-related policies and employee-facing documentation.
  • Configure core people systems (HRIS, ATS, etc.) to ensure alignment with record management and compliance requirements.
  • Design and execute an auditing cadence to identify gaps and implement remediation plans in partnership with Legal.
  • Collaborate with Legal, IT, and Security on data access controls and vendor due diligence.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in a people compliance function at a high-growth tech company.
  • Strong proficiency in U.S. employment laws (PTO, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, FLSA, EEO).
  • Proven track record of designing and conducting audits and developing actionable recommendations.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and ATS platforms; experience with UKG Pro, UKG Ready, and Greenhouse is ideal.
  • Must be based in the US (no visa sponsorship available).
  • Ability to travel up to 5 days per quarter for team gatherings.
