Location: Fully remote from AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, NC, NJ, NY, NV, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, or Ontario, Canada; or onsite/hybrid from Palo Alto, New York, or Toronto.
Salary: $150K – $200K • Offers Equity

What you will do
- Lead distributed People Ops team (2 Philippines-based reports): coach, set priorities, ensure accuracy and service delivery.
- Own end-to-end payroll, benefits administration, open enrollment, vendor management, and year-end reporting (W-2s).
- Manage global operations including EOR partnerships, contract updates, cost forecasting with Finance.
- Oversee compliance calendar, audits, regulatory risks across federal/state/local levels.
- Drive HRIS data integrity, automation, self-service, and AI tools to optimize HR processes.
- Coordinate employee lifecycle (onboarding/offboarding), immigration filings, visa tracking with IT/Legal.
Requirements
- 7+ years progressive People Operations experience including payroll, benefits, compliance at fast-growing startup (150-350 employees scale).
- Experience managing distributed/offshore operations team strongly preferred.
- Strong multi-state US employment compliance and operational risk management knowledge.
- Partnering with vendors (payroll, benefits, EOR, immigration counsel).
- High attention to detail, judgment with confidential data, strong project management.
Nice to have
- Experience with EOR platforms (Deel, Remote, Rippling Global, Oyster, Papaya).
- Familiarity with immigration processes and vendor coordination.
- High-growth startup environment experience.
- HRIS expertise and process automation comfort.
